Master Plan Open House
An interactive Open House for the draft master plan was held on Saturday, March 25th, 2017, in Cleveland Township Hall, 955 W. Harbor Highway.
The Master Plan Open House was part of the township’s 2017 Annual Meeting. Stations were set up and staffed throughout the room for attendees to review the background data that was used to inform the plan; the draft goals, objectives and action steps of the plan; and future land uses in the township.
Environmental Sustainability Forum
A special forum focused on environmental sustainability was held on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017, at the Cleveland Township Hall. The centerpiece of the forum was a facilitated discussion with community leaders about the recommendations for environmental sustainability in the township’s Draft 2017 Master Plan. Through multiple public meetings held last summer and fall, and through a community survey with hundreds of responses, the township planning commission identified several opportunities for the township to encourage more sustainable practices for inland lakes, watershed health, and other topics. The purpose of the forum was to share these preliminary recommendations with the public and township leaders and seek feedback.
